III. EXERCISES
Exercise 1: Quantify and Visualize Data
In this exercise, we were told to choose similar items within a
category and arrange them in a neat layout.
I decided to pick hair ties, as there is a nice variety of colors and
sizes available. I wanted to arrange it in a circle layout, so I tried
to take a photo first and then annotate it online.
After the digital draft, I worked on the physical version. Since it
was a really big paper, I had issues drawing the circles.

Exercise 2: L.A.T.C.H
In this exercise, we were introduced to the L.A.T.C.H principles and
were told to create an infographic. that utilizes the 4 of the
L.A.T.C.H principles.
I decided to do Pokémon, and I picked the principles: Location, Time,
Category, and Hierarchy.
Since I was familiar with the series, I wanted to do something closer
to what I had experienced. So, I picked an island from the Alola
region. Since I picked an island, it was easy to find different
geographical locations. Akala is a decently sized island, so there was
a variety available.
Similar to the previous task, I decided to draw it out first. The
Location principle was easy to find, as I had the different
locations. Category and Hierarchy can be used simultaneously for the
evolutions, so I only had to find Time. I had a hard time looking
for this one, and there were a lot of options. I ended up picking
the day/night combo, so I split the poster into two sides: one day
and one night. Pokémon that spawned during the day would be on the
left, and at night on the right.
